A Michigan health care professional who voluntarily agrees to participate in the HPRP as a result of that individual’s substance abuse, chemical dependency or mental illness, and who has been determined to be eligible for the program.

  • Michigan health care professionals supported by the HPRP include those applying for, or who are actively licensed, registered or certified in any of the following licensing boards.
    1. Acupuncturist
    2. Allopathic Physician (MD)
    3. Athletic Trainer
    4. Audiologist
    5. Chiropractor
    6. Dentist, Dental Hygienist, and Dental Assistant
    7. Marriage and Family Therapist
    8. Massage Therapist
    9. Nursing Home Administrator
    10. Occupational Therapist and Occupational Therapy Assistant
    11. Optometrist
    12. Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon
    13. Physician’s Assistant
    14. Podiatric Physician and Surgeon
    15. Professional Counselor
    16. Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse
    17. Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician
    18. Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant
    19. Psychologist
    20. Respiratory Therapist
    21. Sanitarians
    22. Social Worker, Social Service Technician
    23. Speech-Language Pathologist
    24. Veterinarian and Veterinary Technician
