What is the difference between residential inpatient treatment and detox?

What is the difference between residential inpatient treatment and detox?

Residential inpatient treatment is when you reside at a rehabilitation facility for a certain length of time. These facilities are staffed with MD/DO’s, addictionist, psychiatrists, psychologists, counselors, social workers, and other people who have experience helping people overcome the physical and psychological aspects of drug addiction under the care of medical staff.  Detoxification (detox) is a process that medically removes unwanted substances from the body, so you  may begin a sober recovery and is generally preformed during a hospital stay.
