Why am I being required to schedule an appointment at the beginning of my agreement with my addictionist, psychiatrist, and/or pain specialist when I am only required to meet with them once per quarter?

Why am I being required to schedule an appointment at the beginning of my agreement with my addictionist, psychiatrist, and/or pain specialist when I am only required to meet with them once per quarter?

You are asked to schedule an appointment with your addictionist, psychiatrist, and/or pain specialist at the start of your monitoring agreement for a number of reasons. Your provider(s) may not have any appointments available for 6 weeks or more, therefore the longer you wait, the less likely you will be able to schedule an appointment within your first quarter. The HPRP recommends that you meet with your provider(s) as soon as possible to develop rapport and so your provider(s) can have input should you need treatment recommendations, are requesting to change your monitoring agreement, or are submitting a leave request.
